Contrast Enhancement

Contrast Enhancement

Thu Feb 24 2022
Contrast enhancement of poorly illuminated images have been widely used in many image processing applications where the subjective quality of images is important for human or machine interpretation. Contrast is the difference in visual properties that makes an object distinguishable from other objects and the background which is determined by the difference in the color and brightness. There are mainly two categories of image contrast enhancement algorithms: the global and the local enhancement. In saiwa Contrast Enhancement demo, you can investigate a fast and robust local enhancement method which is called LLCC on your own images online. For more information on technical details of this method, please refer to the corresponding white paper. Also, to try other methods and in case, the proposed methods does not work well on your images, please let us know via Feedback form or by requesting a service customization. saiwai image Contrast Enhancement service has the following advantages:
  • An fast and accurate method
  • Improving contrast while keeping local structure on images
  • Less halo artifacts
  • Parameter adjustment to try different adjustment alternatives
  • Image aggregation to apply the algorithm on several images at once
  • Preview and download the resulting images
  • Exporting and archiving the results in user cloud space or locally
  • Service customization by saiwa© team using “Request for customization” option Contrast Enhancement of images has a wide range of applications. To mention only a few: 1. Medical image processing 2. Industrial machine vision application 3. Astronomical imaging 4. Pre-processing stage of machine vision systems
